The Easter Extravaganza at Heacham Public Hall on 19th of April was a huge success. Much fun was had by all. Easter bonnets, clay animals, monoprints and seascapes were made. Plus people tried their hand at card making, quilling, scrap-booking, crocheting and pebble painting – Oh and lots of cakes and scones (thanks to Joanna at Modern Story) were consumed!
The Easter Bunny was in residence too. Apparently she might be back as a cheeky elf or Christmas tree fairy at our next event which will be in December.
Thank you Heacham for all your support. And a massive thank you to Mary Atkin, Stina Burger, Michelle Louise Carter, Brittany Elwin, Sophia Heathcote, Helga Joergens, Kerry Long and Sue York for providing the craft activities. And a big shout out for our volunteer helpers Allan, Felicity, Jill, Mags, Mo, Pattie and Sarah Jane and – of course to all who generously donated tombola prizes and cakes. Much appreciated. We raised an incredible £444.40 and donations are still coming in.
On the day we had fantastic feedback:
“Can we do this every week?”
“Absolutely amazing day. Wish we could do it more!!! Appreciate you all.”
“This was such a fun afternoon! … Thank you so much to Esther and all of the lovely volunteers! Super friendly and so patient. We loved it!”
It was so wonderful seeing the enthusiasm which we believe indicates a shift from being online to being hands on. We really would like to be here for the community and run regular arts and crafts activities for all. Owning The Old Dairy would make this a reality.
Last but definitely not least, a huge thanks to Margaret Marciniak for her donation of the proceeds of her Sound Bath on 25th of April. She raised £184.
Our next fundraising event is a Coffee Morning at 36 Staithe Road, Heacham, PE31 7EE on 28 June from 11 am to 3 pm. Come join us – eat yummy cakes, play some fun games and try your hand at some craft activities. We look forward to meeting you.
